Prayer Requests for the Week of March 18

Please pray…

…for the Muslim women (neighbors) in your community–the ones you know and the ones you don’t know–to seek and find Jesus.

…for Christian Filipino house workers in closed Muslim countries, to have open doors for ministry to the Muslim women they serve, and their families.

…for Muslim women in a specific prison in a very sensitive country to find freedom in Christ through Christian women who visit them regularly.

A special, urgent prayer request from a friend of Karima:

Karima(not real name) is a 30 year old lady who has been here for two years. She comes from a religious family. Karima suffers from MS and takes injections daily. Her husband is through with Islam and follows no faith. When they arrived here he told Karima to remove her scarf which was really hard for her as it gave her her identity. Over the past two years he has fully allowed me to teach her the Word. He’s a big tough guy and used to be a smuggler in his country. Sometimes he has sat through these times with us. Weekly we have read through the Toddlers Bible story book in English and finished it now. We also read the same story in the Bible in her language. Then I have her repeat the story to me in her language. This is to not only help her to solidify the truths but also to prepare her for teaching others one day. The husband laughed one day as he sat in on our times and joked, “You keep her very busy!” She put away Islamic prayers and reading the Qur’an. She has given her heart to Jesus. She has prayed numerous times infront of her husband. He is very moved by it.  She hasn’t gone to church yet nor been baptized though she wants to do both. I’m not 100% sure where her husband stands on this. All of this is to say she has been on a steady journey step by step.  Her faith is that of a spiritual baby.  Now….on the 25th she and her husband and son will go for a month to her country where it is forbidden to convert and consequences could be serious and she isn’t a Canadian citizen yet. She is vulnerable as a woman, with having a serious case of MS, and as a baby believer. I have promised her that I will pray for her every day. She is walking into hazardous territory. If any of you are willing to pray for her I’d really appreciate that. I believe that the Spirit will preserve her and strengthen her faith.
